L’ORO DEL MEDITERRANEO

THE COMPETITION

In order to promote cultural exchanges and facilitate promotional activities between the various States of the entire basin, the 15th International Award L’Oro del Mediterraneo 2026 is announced.

This competition is open to extra virgin olive oils produced in Mediterranean countries.

Furthermore, the 6th ‘L’Oro dell’Istria’ Award, reserved for Croatian olive oils, is also announced.

The competition is promoted by O.L.E.A. – Aps, with the collaboration and participation of national and international bodies and associations.

PURPOSE AND AIMS

L’Oro del Mediterraneo Award 2026 aims to:

• promote the culture and strengthen the image of Mediterranean extra virgin olive oil;
• make its organoleptic characteristics, nutritional and health properties known and appreciated and encourage consumption;
• stimulate olive growers and operators to improve quality and promote marketing;
• enhance the activity of olive producers and millers and the role of olive oil tasters.

RESULTS AND AWARDS

The award ceremony for the 15th International Competition ‘L’Oro del Mediterraneo 2026’ will take place in April 2026 in Fano (PU), Italy, on the occasion of the Gran Galà dell’Olio 2026, at the same time as the awards ceremony of the 17th national competition L’Oro d’Italia 2026, the date of which will be announced in due time.

Producers and experts will attend some cultural, thematic, promotional and gastronomic moments.

Administrators, cultural figures, business operators, and consumers will be invited to attend the event.
